Actxa Launches Spark Band, Boosting Non-Invasive Glucose Monitoring Market at IFA 2026

At IFA Berlin 2026, the Singapore-based health tech firm Actxa unveiled its latest innovation, the Spark Band, a screenless wearable device designed to monitor various health metrics. This new wristband integrates sleep, recovery, heart health, activity, and fitness tracking with Actxa’s proprietary non-invasive glucose awareness technology. The Spark Band, intended for continuous wear, utilizes BGEM technology to generate an AI Glucose Snapshot, offering users an estimated glucose range and an indicative value within that range in about one minute. Actxa emphasizes that this feature is meant for general wellness and awareness, rather than medical diagnosis or treatment.

The AI Glucose Snapshot enables users to track glucose-related patterns by taking snapshots at different intervals throughout the day, such as around meals. This approach encourages users to focus on trends and patterns rather than isolated readings, integrating these insights with other health and lifestyle information to promote overall wellness. Beyond glucose awareness, the Spark Band tracks a variety of health indicators using the Actxa app, including sleep stages, sleep scores, and overnight signals. It also features a recovery function that compares sleep heart rate variability with a personalized seven-day baseline, providing a 30-day recovery trend.

In terms of activity and fitness, the wearable tracks movement, Intensity Minutes, workouts, VO2 Max, and Fitness Age. Additionally, the band incorporates a Target Heart Rate Zone feature that uses LED lights and vibration alerts to notify users when they reach their selected training zone without the need for a screen. The screenless design aims to minimize notifications and visual distractions, relying on LED and vibration cues for functions like training-zone alerts, movement prompts, and wake-up alarms.

Weighing approximately 22 grams, the Spark Band boasts a zinc-alloy casing and a soft nylon braided strap. It offers up to 14 days of battery life and is available in a Titanium Silver casing with Jet Black accents and a Midnight Black strap, in S/M and M/L sizes. With an IP68 rating, the band is designed to withstand everyday water exposure, including immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes under specified conditions. The device can store up to seven days of data before synchronizing with the Actxa app and is compatible with Android 8.0 or later and iOS 15.6 or later. It does not require a monthly subscription or ongoing service fees.

Set to be released in selected markets across Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and North America, pre-orders for the Spark Band begin on September 24, 2026, at a price of SGD 199 / USD 149. The official launch and fulfillment are slated for November 18, 2026. Actxa is offering promotional discounts during the pre-order period, including a 40% early-bird discount from September 24 to October 31, a 20% discount from November 1 to 17, and a 10% launch offer for a limited time after the official release. The company reiterates that the AI Glucose Snapshot is designed solely for wellness and awareness purposes, not for diagnosing or managing medical conditions. Actxa, established in 2015, continues to innovate in the realm of health and wellness technology with this latest offering.
