Trump’s Ceasefire Crumbles as Israel Orders ‘Forceful’ Tehran Strikes

The fragile ceasefire announced by the US President between Israel and Iran appears to have crumbled, with Israel’s Defense Minister ordering the military to respond “forcefully” to an alleged Iranian missile launch. This direct defiance of the truce, intended to end a 12-day war, has plunged the region back into uncertainty.
Israel Katz, the Defense Minister, explicitly stated his instructions to the military to conduct “powerful strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran.” He accused Iran of a “complete violation” of the ceasefire, citing missile launches towards Israel as the trigger for renewed hostilities. Air raid sirens in northern Israel confirmed the reported Iranian activity.
The US President’s early morning social media declaration of a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE” had initially offered a glimmer of hope. Both nations had publicly acknowledged the truce, following a period of intense pre-ceasefire exchanges. However, the rapid breakdown of the agreement demonstrates the profound challenges in de-escalating the conflict.
Prior to the ceasefire, Israel had launched some of its most intense airstrikes on Tehran, causing widespread destruction. Iran, while denying post-ceasefire launches, acknowledged its earlier barrages that led to casualties in Israel. The ongoing violence, despite diplomatic efforts, paints a grim picture for stability in the Middle East.
