Trump Lays Down Trade Ultimatum: Seven More Letters and No More Extensions

President Trump is doubling down on his tough trade stance, preparing to dispatch a new set of letters to seven additional countries. The letters, focused on trade revisions and tariff enforcement, are expected to go out Wednesday morning with more updates in the afternoon.
On Tuesday, the president imposed steep tariffs on 14 nations, with increases ranging from 25% to 40%. These tariffs are part of a broader plan to reshape global trade dynamics and prioritize American interests.
While addressing reporters alongside Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Trump confirmed that the US has successfully negotiated deals with the UK and China. Talks with India are reportedly close to the finish line.
Trump has moved the deadline to August 1 but emphasized this will be the last extension. “There will be no change,” he wrote, clarifying that all trade dues must be paid beginning that day, marking the culmination of months of tariff battles.
