German Official Explores Economic Opportunities in Da Nang During Visit

In an effort to bolster ties between Germany and Vietnam, Bodo Ramelow led a delegation from Germany to Da Nang. The visit focused on enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors, with discussions centered around potential collaborations between the city and German partners. During their meetings, delegates from both sides assessed the current socio-economic partnerships and considered new opportunities for working together in areas such as education, vocational training, investment, technology, and workforce development.

Leaders in Da Nang were particularly keen on expanding their partnerships with German regions and institutions. Their focus was on human resource development, vocational education, and providing German language training. Local officials also emphasized the potential for increased German investment, especially in high-tech industries, semiconductor production, renewable energy, the green economy, and the digital transformation sector.

Ramelow identified vocational education as a key area ripe for collaboration. He proposed creating joint training programs that would enable graduates to earn qualifications recognized in both Vietnam and Germany. Ramelow also expressed his support for strengthening business relations and exploring new investment avenues between the two regions.

Germany continues to be one of Da Nang’s significant European partners, with existing cooperation spanning trade, technology, education, research, and cultural exchange. The visit served to reaffirm both sides’ commitment to broadening their economic and institutional partnerships.
